Pet Day

 Hi bloggers today I am going to be posting about pet day at our school. Pet day is a day once a year where we can bring our pets into the school grounds but only at 1:45 but during the day we do heaps of fun activities in the morning we do fun things like Making sand saucer and Veg sculptures but I did icing competition and photography competition. But in the afternoon just after lunch we do agri sports agri sports is a lot of fun activities like sack races and egg and spoon race.

How to wash the dishes

How are  you? 

Today  I am posting about how to wash the dishes.  First of all fill  the sink with hot water then when all fill just about to the top put some detergent then get some rubber gloves on. Put the dishes in the water and scrub them  with a dish brush.  Then when you think, or they look clean then put them into a dish rack to dry. Sometimes this can be hard and you   have to play tetris to get them all to fit into the dish rack. Or you could just buy a dishwasher.

How to make scrambled eggs

How are you?

Today  am blogging to show you how to make scrambled eggs it is pretty simple. If you like my post then please. 

Step 1.  Get a bowl and then a fork 

Step 2.  Crack the eggs into the bowl and then add a little bit of milk. you can also add cheese and bacon or ham if you want.

Step 3. Get a frying pan and then get a adult to help you turn the element on

Step 4. Put the eggs into the pan

Step 5. Every now and then mix them in the pan with a scraper

Step 6. When the are done put them on a plate or in a bowl and you could also put some salt or pepper then you can eat them when they have gotten colder then enjoy eating them .

Athletics Practice HAS STARTED

How Are you ?

Today my post is about Athletics for athletics there is High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Discus. Every day my class and Year 5s and 4s do  athletics practice we all go through different rotations every time we do a rotations we are getting better at the sport that we were doing. For Shot Put you put the Shot Put next to your ear and then throw. It is a little bit the same for Discus only because you have to throw it you put your fingers around it and the go back 2 to 3 times and then let go of it. For High Jump it is a lot easier you scissor kick the jump but you have to try not hit it down.  For long jump you jump then lean forward and then you will go further then leaning back.

Camp Episode 2

 On camp we did Bealey Spur this is a walk in Arthurs Pass walk and it is very LONG! Student Summit

This is the first student summit that I have done in my whole lifetime. We were going to go to a school but because of covid-19 we could not go. I participated in this I did not show anyone anything.    

Today is the student summit day  Pick a Path, Scratch Shapes, Pixton Comics, and Make Belive comics. All of my things will be in one post and on a goggle drawing. Episode 1 of Camp (READ)

 Hi Bloggers, 

Week 7 Term 3 of school we went on camp to Arthurs- Pass. It took 2 hours and 30 minutes exactly because we stopped a lot. We got there on a bus it was nice bus, The bus had some TV'S and every seat had a air conditioner.  Me and my friends played UNO. When we got their we unpacked and the instructors names were Gemma and Ruby. There was some Parent Helpers on camp as well their names where Lu, Paul, Jo, Bretton, Richard Dan, Mr Robertson, and our teacher Miss Rennell.  This Post for camp is about River Crossing. 

River Crossing was FREEZING like if you put a bag of ice on your feet for 2 hours then it will be as cold as river crossing. It made your feet and legs go numb and their was slippery rocks so you could not just run across. We learned that if you are carrying a big pack then go with the stream and then you will not be trying to push yourself to get the other way upstream.

My Reflection of River Crossing was that it was really cold and that when you were done you almost cried of coldness.

My Speech

Today I am posting about my speech. Today at school we presented our speeches. I am competing for the school competition. My speech is entitled, 'can video games make you smarter?' Also when the other classmates  were reciting theirs we had to mark them. My favorite speech was my friend named Alvin his was about Busy verses Productive people. When I marked his Speech he got 28/28 because his speech was good he had good eye contact. His speech was in the time limit.  

Here Is Mine:

I have heard  quite a lot of people say that video games make you dumber. But I love them and I am smart so I have to prove my point.  

Hi my name is Ethan. I Love video games. I will show THEM WRONG. Who loves video games probalry everyone. I sure do. 

My point is that everyone says that video games make you dumb. I do not believe them. According to studies that only some of the games make you smarter Minecraft etc. A couple of scientists tested 12,004 students, they found that students who play video games do better then other people who don’t. 

Also some people say that playing video games makes your eyes ruined but I always sit to close the TV when playing video games. My Mum and Dad always tell me to sit back from the TV.  But can first person shooter games make you smarter? The answer is yes, studies show that if you play FPS games like call of duty, fortnite ETC they make you faster at things but not smarter. Some scientists studied games and when you learn about the same topic in class then you will be more likely to rember what the Answer is. 

Here are some excuses to make you allowed to play video games 

1.You develop reading skills if the game your playing has words on the screen or if you are reading the instructions 

Video games help you concentrate  more because when you play a game you will be focused on the game and nothing else. 

Studies found that people who play video games on a regualr basis learn faster then others that don’t 

     So I hope that has taught you lots, Remember don’t play too many video games that make you dumber (not)...  So now you understand that video games make you smarter so don’t say they make you dumber.

Today I will be telling you a story...  It is a fictional story (not ture) 

Once upon a time there was a boy named Benjamin.. He was traveling through the woods and he saw a little cottage and then his Sister caught up to him. Her name was Luna and she said "lets go check that out". I said "ok" and then we traveled a little bit further and then heard a howl. I Stopped in my tracks and Luna mumbled to herself. Then when we got a little bit closer I saw someone in the house I went on my hands knees so Luna was just a little bit too excited she said "what was that ''. I didn't reply. I was too freaked out about the person in the cottage I sunk down low finally I replied "I don't know". "That lady shrunk us" I screeched she couldn't here us...

YMS Cross Country 2020

How are you?
Today I am blogging about the YMS cross country we did on the 21st July. I came 3rd, that is still good for me though. I might be going to zones. The Year 6 group's cross country was a distance of 2.1 kms. We ran around the Yaldhurst Domain (down the road) once and the YMS big field 3 times. I loved it because I tried my hardest and came in a good place. If I do go to zones I will prepare by running around like in my sports such as soccer.

Today I am blogging about my book from the school library. It is called 13 storey treehouse, It is about 2 boys that are friends and there names are Andy and Terry they live in a giant treehouse. I have only read the back of the book it says -> Andy and Terry's 13-Storey treehouse is the most amazing treehouse in the world! It's got a bowling alley, a see through swimming pool, a tank full of man eating sharks, giant catapult, a secret underground laboratory and a marshmallow machine that follows you around and shoots marshmallows into your mouth whenever you're hungry.

How are you?

Today I am blogging about my quarry walk. It is in haswell firstly you go through a gate and then up lots and lots of Hills it is very tiring. Me and my family do the lots we do this because we need to get outside and do some exercise it's not that far away from our house and  we all love it.  this time when we went we took photos of the information signs so we can put it on my blog. The signs tell you  of the history of the quarry. When we first went it was very cool there was a little zigzag that we had to go up to get to the end and I loved it and we're going to do it every day from now on. we have to be careful on the giant Hill because the rocks can fall and hurt us 😱.

What I did in the weekend?

 Hi Guys, Welcome back to my blog sorry I haven't posted in a while. If you forgot my name it is Ethan. Today I am blogging about... My weekend. I have listed it so it is easier to read. Hope you enjoy!

• Playing with lego!

Bike ride 

Every day I go for a bike ride with my Dad, My Step-mum Jaime, My Sister Kaylee, My brother Riley.  Our Dog Greta runs with us. We live in New Brighton, so we can go through the forest and past the beach along a trail. Then we are back at home. This keeps us excreised, it is a 12km loop. 

School Work 

For our school work we do Read theory, Newsela, Mathletics.  Read theory is for reading and so is Newsela. But Mathletics is for maths. In read theory you have to do quizzes my class have to do 2 quizzes. One Newsela article is one quiz, and some power words. Power words is having to put words with their meanings. I also play Prodigy to help me learn Maths.

Playing with lego 

Riley, Kaylee and I  play with the lego. We have lots of it so we can build lots of things. My sister built a jail, my brother built a jet ski and I built a lair for a bad guy. But mine broke. Riley's and Kaylee's did not break though. We love to have competitions with our Lego and then Dad or Jaime judge them.

Good Morning Bloggers


Yesterday I showed Ms Lange that Kaylee and I had a pet lion and a pet wolf in lock down with us!!! How cool is that

She suggested I share how this happened with you all so you can have a pet wild animal too

On a phone or iPad go to Google and type in the animal you want to see, then scroll down a bit and where it says 'View in 3D' and click that.

Then click 'View in your space' then move the phone around so the camera picks up and then your animal should appear - How Awesome is that

Sometimes it can take a bit for the animal to appear but keep moving around and if you do it beside a couch or something it works better
